Hammermils

Hammer mills essentially consist of a steel drum containing a vertical or horizontal rotating shaft on which hammers are mounted. The hammers are either made to swing freely at the ends of the cross, or they are fixed to the central rotor. The rotor works at high speed inside the drum while the material is fed through a feed hopper. The material is impacted by the hammers and thus shredded and discharged through the separation screens, separated by size.
